Hi.
I'm restoring an Altec 1593B amplifier. It has a transformer coupled phase inverter. The primary is fed 15v from a zener voltage regulator. Someone stuck an old germanium diode in place of the zener . The service manual only says "Diode, 15V +/-5%". Any idea of the dissipation would be? Since it's feeding the phase inverter transformer, I'm assuming it's low current. Can I just use a large zener (1W or 5W)?
Thanks
Elias
