Looking for an upgrade to Vishay-Telefunken BYV-27-150 diodes wired in parallel for my TDA1541A Dac. I've seen references to:
- Silicon Carbide Shottky's like CREE
- Regular Silicon Shottky
- Harris FRED
- HexFred
- IXYS, including HyperFred
Anyone upgrade their standard soft recovery diodes with one of these with clearly improved results?
I'm looking for more resolution/detail from my TDA1541A NOS dac.
Finally, anyone care to recommed the same for my DRD300B amps?
Thank you!

I'm also interested if anyone tested these http://www.qspeed.com/Products/About-Qspeed-Rectifiers.cfm

you've forgotten my favourite Schottky Barier diodes

Brand, specs please?
Hello Mike,
Actually I haven't encountered Schottkies that sounded worse than regular silicon.
Types I use often in my modules and modifications are:
SS16 (smd)
D15XBS6 (15A/60V bridge from Shindengen, great company)
SB160 (1A/60V wired)
SB360 (3A/60V wired)
Another advantage of SB's is lower forward voltage drop hence less heat development.
best
Guido
