Do you have a crossover schematic? I've been very happy changing the resistor L-pad to attenuate the tweeter in my speakers for autoformers.
Hello again kaputt! Which autoformer do you use for L5 & L6 on your Altec 604 compression driver? Is it an off the shelf item or custom wound?
Are you refering to the crossover schematic I posted in another thread? L5 and L6 are one autoformer, in Spice you need to turn that into two inductors. They are custom wound by Dave Slagle.

Trying to reply to the OP's original question, I've been using Jantzen Superior Z-caps for the mid-highs in my main system and I am satisfied with what I hear.
Having said that, I'd also be curious to try the new Jantzen Alumen Z-caps...

In case you are interested, I use the Fostex R-100T to attenuate the compression driver in my main system, and I find it utterly transparent.
