I just had another idea for the amplifiers. Rather than building them, and buying power supplies. I could just buy a three cheap receivers to power the drivers in my speakers. I've seen a few receivers with 5x100W with preamp inputs for $100. It would probably all come out to about the same price.
The only problem I can think of is that I would have to turn on all the receivers at the same time, which could be annoying unless I could have one master receiver that turns on the rest. Anyone know how to do that? I thought I could just plug the secondary receivers into the switched outlet, but usually they are only good for 100W, and receivers generally don't default to on when plugged in. Ideas?
