What's a 6SL7 Good For?

The 6SL7 isn't particularly scarce or expensive, you can get nice ones for a very reasonable price on eBay on a surprisingly frequent basis. If possible arrange for the shipper to use global priority mail (if available to Greece) and then even the shipping cost and time will be ok too.

I basically buy what I need wherever I find it, giving consideration to the shipping cost of course.

I have RCA red-base premium 6SL7 that drove my 2A3 for a couple of years. It was configured in SRPP and sounds good. However, I found that the 76 w/ a CF driving the 2A3 to be much more to my liking.

Take a look at the 12SL7's if you can do the higher heater rating, the NOS's of these are cheap, they are currently only $3.78 at Antique Electronics, and the last time I ordered one of these from them, it was a mil-spec JAN, dated 1944.

Well, this is more encouraging as I was a little stumped what to do with the 30 of them I was just given.

In addition to the SRPP driver, you can build Octal phono stages with 6SL7s. They go into the "classic" RCA passive circuit instead of a 12AX7, with zero changes.
