Since we all look in the mirror, once in a while anyway, we can come to accept that imperfections can be part of an object's appeal - almost said beauty, but that'd be stretching it a bit.
There is no absolute perfection, and I think our current "favorite" (anything) represents the compromise which we can rationalize to ourselves- without apology to others, and is based in part on some individual factors and our lifetime's experience to date. In other words, "all time favorites" can change - mine certainly have.
