Years of working without any problem..
Are these prices typical of a good quality dual gang pot? I'm only an occasional hobbyist on a budget so penny pinching is important to me.
The casing around the vol pot should be connected to the protected Chassis.
The metal control should be connected to the protected Chassis.
All exposed conductive parts should be connected to the protected Chassis.
But like I said further back, I'm not using a metal case. Does the pot casing still need connecting to ground in my case and could it be done by soldering a wire directly to it?

The pot's only $12 plus shipping from China, most good pots are much more.
All pots should be grounded for shielding, whether the case is metal or not.
A ground wire is fine. You'll get odd noises when touching it and/or hum otherwise.
