Based on some of my email, there seems to be a fair bit of confusion about these devices. The Pass custom SITs should not be confused with the normal SIC JFETs such as R100, R085, etc.
The SITs are depletion mode devices with triode-like characteristic curves, made by magical unicorns.

In another thread, 'twas suggested that degeneration and feedback are highly scorned in the world of the new SIT amps. I believe Nelson is going for purity of signal in his early design. Wire with gain as they say. I am sure this is an oversimplification an they are quite capable of more, but in the end it depends on the goals. I personally would love to hear one of his new SE SIT amps on a nice high efficiency setup. No feedback. No degeneration. Sand amp? Tube world is sweating.
