Upgrading the Advent Prodigy II tower tweeters, ideas appricated

Hey everyone,

I just picked up a set of Advent Prodigy II Tower speakers for $30 and would like to upgrade the tweeters without spending to much. I have never been a real fan of the poly/plastic/mylar tweeters.

Back in the day when I used to build more speakers my favorite tweeter I personally used was the Dynaudio D28AF.

My initial thoughts would be to go with the Dayton Audio DC28F-8 using a first order crossover at 3k. I can't hear much above 12Khz so higher frequency response isn't of great importance

I'm just looking for low cost ideas at this point so lets hear yours.

Yes, Dayton Audio is a good choice. A nice budget allround tweeter would also be Peerless by Tymphany BC25TG15-04. A first order electrical is almost always inadequate.
