Transducers for a spring reverb

I'm looking to make a slinky reverb like the one laid out on http://sound.westhost.com/project34.htm, but I don't really know anything about transducers and wanted to see if I could get some recommendations. Also, is there anything that I should do differently if I use a large metal plate instead of the spring?

I'd buy a reverb tank with transducers myself. They're quite cheap.

Plate reverbs can be done, but I've only ever seen them in studios and have been large a couple of sq m or so. Audio Amateur did a plate reverb project around 1980 or so,.

Some springlines used standard crystal phono cartridges as transducers.

many reverb-tank have two magnetic transducers
with moving magnet system.
(The magnet is fixed to the extremity of spring)
