So I'm building a new pair of "Take to school speakers" as I'm giving my sis my Fisher ST-828's. For the tweeter I plan on using a selenium DH200E. I was going to use the HL14-25 horn with it but my enclosure design has changed. Now the tweeter and horn are going to be external (on top of) the enclosure. The HL14-25 just isn't going to look good.
For some reason Train Horns passed though my head when thinking of a solution. It would be more expensive, require a little machining, and possibly some fabrication but I could make it work. The thing is that I don't really know a whole lot about horns.
Does it matter what the horn materials are?
Is metal an ok material?
