TPA3255 - all about DIY, Discussion, Design etc

Somehow i missed to post the marriage of our TPA3255 design with the Voltwide LLC supply in a stackup. With the correct length for all distance bolts, it would fit into a 10x10x10cm cube. :D

I am contemplating building a 3251-based amp as a birthday present for a friend to replace his old Marantz PM-54 integrated. I need to do this fairly cheaply and was thinking to use the 3e 3251 stereo board (i've got other more involved projects with 3251, but those will have to wait a bit).

My question relates to power supply. I have some capMX boards lying around unused i was thinking i might employ. Since the amp board only needs a single rail supply, this could make a fairly compact solution as i see it. But would a capMX such as Juma's (using irfp240 rated for 20A) be able to handle full power draw? I don't expect him to use full power of the amp, but i assume it is foolish practice not to use a power supply rated for at least that.

As for transformer, would a 300VA be sufficient i wonder?

Or would it be cheaper (and just as good) to just go for a connex/meanwell 300W supply? I know that's what a lot of people do here...

What voltage does your supply provide?
You may use the SHUTDOWN function of the amp to mute while power-up/down.
I once made a fix for the blue PCB version like shown in the picture.

It's located on the right side next to the heatsink. If yours look different, send a picture of that region.
Wire a switch between these two points for manual muting the amp.

Doc, thank sharing SHUTDOWN function suggestion for mute...
FX502Spro is really great sounding amp, having auto-mute would make it perfect, I am amateur on how to do it...

Is it possible to implement an automatically mute function during power-up/down for FX502Spro? How to go about?
