This seems to be sold out. Are they still available?

Maybe send the seller a PM.

Following up I do think this amp has lower noise and better low level detail than my wiener monos, but not as full in low frequencies. Seems to have a little better separation of instruments and depth. However, the monos have more bass output. Otherwise the 3251 has the same sonic attributes. The 3251 has more power though and since I may pursue more power hungry speaker builds in the future, I will probably keep it as my main Amp!

Great job, 3eaudio.

Wich one is best suited for 8 ohms speakers ?

Depends on the power level you want. Look at the datasheets for the amplifier IC (chip). The word TPA32/50/55/51 is the name for the amplifier IC. Search "<Amplifier IC Model Name> Datasheet"

heres the first page of one, which i have commented on to help you. note theres you will normally finds pages of graphs about useful info about the amplifier IC if you scroll down the datasheet. which i advise you to do. I always look for the THD v.s Watts @ powered at recommended input voltage.

I have some questions about this thing..

1. Can it run without problems from a linear supply - bus pumping etc? Any tips as to precautions with linear supply?

2. Can the coils cope with low impedance (4ohm) load at high levels and is this suitable as a full range amp for something like, say, an inefficient Dynaudio 6 inch bookshelf speaker.

3. How is turn on/off thump etc?

4. What do you guys do about speaker protection?

I'm wondering if this is a nice alternative to an Icepower 125 or 250 type board.

The datasheet of 3251 does not talk about 8 ohm speakers, whereas the datasheet of 3255 does. Does it mean 3251 is not suited for 8 ohm speakers, or just that TI has not written about it?
