I'm looking for a source for output/power torroidal x-formers. Aside from Plitron, I'm having a pretty difficult time finding anyone.
Any recommendations? Anyone know about this source:
http://rogerk.freeyellow.com/ ? I've tried to contact, but never get a response...
TIA
Matt

I use Victoria Magnetics for all of my transformer needs:
http://www.victoriamagnetics.com
They can make any custom transformer that you want, for a reasonable price. They are located in Atlanta, GA. I have gone down there several times and talked with the owner and watch him wind my toroidal transformers.

plitron is great, but when I was trying to get a custom transformer, they wanted to charge me a large setup charge, and victoriamagnetics doesn't have one. If you are going for a configuration that already exists with plitron, it will be a bit cheaper then getting it from victoria magnetics, but for custom, price out victoria magnetics before ordering from plitron.

Try
www.toroid.com
They make a kit, so you can work out the voltages you need and wind yourself. This should appeal to all of you DIYers here.

"NO CATALOG CUSTOM WORK"
They claim to be "America's premier coil winder"
"Engineering * Rewinding * Prototypes"
"We design and build transformers for any power amplifier tube"
This is not an endorsement. I know nothing of these people aside from being regular advertisers in AudioXpress.
If some body has comments (pro or con) feel free to add.
