Hi,

I bought the Marantz line stage board from them and its actually pretty darn close to the Marantz 7 schematic....

As Contaxchen says, getting the schematics for the marantz preamp is no big deal, finding the components to get the tonal balance as per the original one is something else altogether.

Even Marantz' effort to copy his own (well the heritage they bought off Saul Marantz's company anyway) was ultimately flawed because of this.

I would much rather build the M7 from new higher quality components!!!

You could much better techically speaking with both modern components and without any commercial constraints holding you back nowadays.
Audio Research's early efforts proved that easily IMO.

Somebody is trying up to 450V!

The original Jadis phonostage was run from around 450VDC B+ IRCC, and sounded extremely good too.
This is the ideal B+ for 12AX7As anyway and the only time they truely shine.
For a 12AX7 in a phonopre application anyway.....

Cheers, ;)
