The Pass Pub: The High-End Off Topic Thread

A new topological wrinkle was introduced for the first time in this
front end, CLF (Cascode Local Feedback), an alternative method
of controlling linearity around a single stage without the usual
trade-offs. This innovation allows arbitrary shaping of the relative
distortion harmonics and was tweaked to precisely complement the
character of the output stage.
This new front end has a 100 Khz open loop bandwidth and a gain
figure which allows about 10 dB of feedback around the output
stage. The output stage could easily be operated without feedback,
but it sounds better with this little bit. As an aside, all this was
accomplished without frequency compensation – there are no little
capacitors in the circuit to trim or stabilize the response. For that
matter, the circuit is also DC coupled.

What the hell is cascode local feedback?
Is it just a regular cascoded stage with degeneration?

These look 'relatively' happy!

even if I have thought or two about that , you'll not hear me babbling

we don't need Xs clones any time soon
It's more fun just trying out your own ideas. I agree.
When it comes to high efficiency speakers though not sure what to build. Has to be absolutely phenomenal though. I don't want high efficiency for the sake of high efficiency.

Gyuri,

You are very honest...you do not blame the fates, you do not show any anger at your great loss - you simply are very sad and hurt due to your loss; a loss which leaves you very much less than you were when all was well and you felt complete. I think I once before quoted Goethe regarding such personal pain. If I did it still is true enough to repeat:

"Some bear their anguish in silent grief,
But the Gods gave me a voice to utter all my pain"

If you have been given the voice you must utter the pain. To be silent and what some people call "brave" will turn that pain too much inward and it will break through in less acceptable form. There is a big psychological study of this based on the reactions of parents who lost - between them - a very big number of sons and daughters when a nightclub near Boston suffered a firestorm. Those who attempted to be "brave" and "controlled" were studied over many years - as were those who were so grief stricken that they could only weep. The result was that the parents who were "brave" and "useful" were those with the highest divorce rates, highest alcoholism rates, highest business failures, etc etc. The pain was not acknowledged and turned inwards and consumed them. THose who were grief stricken - in every way - had the most balanced and successful lives after that terrible night.

Hi, Brianco,

Thank you for it.
This is a rather accurate distant diagnosis.

Your reward is a little clarification:

What is common to them, the poem's author, poem's artist's, and my son?
