Hi Massimo,

this phono stage is intended to be used for MM cartridges or with a MC step up transformer. And also with an active line stage. For this about 40dB is all you need and intentionally chosen. Many systems have way to much gain.

You will not be able to squeeze significantly more gain from this design. If you need more gain, choose the appropriate MC step up transformer and suitable line stage. Or simply another design.
