Wordpad uses unicode, try notepad and select verdana with western coding.

The link you posted uses the wrong codepage (DOS).

About the notepad thing, looks like WindowsXP is playing games with you, having some sillyenduserfriendlyfeature (autoconverting to unicode -> WYSINWYG), Win2K still works correct. Try to save the text file as ANSI and reopen it in notepad or browser. (remember that the edit field in the browser is also notepad / the same window class)

The browser displays the codepage correctly. It's not the forum, it's the browser / OS.

Win 2k does the same WYSINWYG as XP but as you say I can not save it and reopen.
That codepage issue explaied it to me, thanks!

But it's still sad that we cannot use correct symbols for electrical units here.
