I had been hoping to avoid that particular expense but now... Argh

Make your own and save, but you'll have to accept the outcome. That's why I chose to listen to several. To first be sure there was a difference and second to find a path to take. Either buy or DIY. Unfortunately, the $800 for 4ft cord sounded best to me. :rolleyes: It's a bit of an esoteric design. Eminence

I don't think you need anything close to this to get good sound. I heard a very musical 14ga cable that's $50 Pangea Audio - AC-14 - Powercord-Audio Advisor. This cable is meant for front-end/source gear and, it doesn't have the dark backgrounds and music rising out of nowhere like the DCCA. The Pangea 9 would have been a better comparison. I heard it a few months ago, but don't remember the sound.

This is just an example of the spread I heard. There's more expensive out there.
