I admit to being confused here. I thought the idea was to have a similar sound but not quite a rhyme?
1, 3 and 6 seem to qualify but the others?
2, 5 and 8 are rhymes and I'm not sure what's up with 4 and 7.

The different takes are interesting. I'd say:

1, excellent!
2, good (Advance, pronounced "posh", sounds different to romance)
5, very good, (don't rhyme in my book but plays on the fact you could stretch the point)
6, very good

I'm English, Brummie to be precise. I don't quite understand your question, how do a people resemble a country?? Although in the case of Wales this does sort of make sense, Cymry (the people) and Cymru (the place), both pronounced "cumree", derives from "fellow countrymen", so, the country doesn't have a name as such, which I kind of like. Like the song Land Of My Fathers........

This has been a tricky one due to pronunciation differences, but I can assure you if came to the US's deep south where I live, you'd clearly hear why I posted Love is the Drug. it reminds me of a youtube video my wife & I saw a while back that I can't find now on my ipad about how accents dissapear in most songs even when sung by thick accented speakers.
