TG9FD10-8 is a very special driver. For 1/5th price of 10F/8424, it has about 95% of performance and that magical fiberglass cone sound.

It will work in many different alignments but I think you may be very happy if it is used with a woofer below 200Hz. It will open it up and let it do its thing.

The Nautaloss with dual TG9FD would be very good.

Dual TG9FDs in a 0.53x Karlsonator would be rich and satisfying down to 60Hz.

Erm, I went sideways:

PC -> USB Audio Widget -> FreeDSP (XO) -> 4 channel GC -> Open Baffle TG9D + JVC 8" sub.

Need to devise a crossover for FreeDSP and a box for sub, but the setup is already playing as is, with default 2way XO.

I don't know how -high- your sub can go, but the small TG9 on this tiny baffle will drop at about 350Hz... which is usually a lot higher than most subs go.

But I know how fun it is to experiment.

Just need a box for a sub now. It's actually 12" sub, which already plays quite loud and low even in free space

I have miniDSP HD, but that freeDSP looks nice as well.

How is this drop handled by Nola Brio? It's the similar setup afaik. I still need to do some measurements.

The TG9's would make a great "tweeter" crossed to an 8-10" woofer around 800Hz in a 2-way or MTM system.

I don't see any drops around 350Hz in the datasheet. Where is that coming from?

It's really more of an issue of distortion. Keep the driver above 300Hz to have low distortion. It will go to 55Hz in a MLTL but distortion is high.

That little speaker mounted on that tiny open baffle. It will not reach the same as the specs which are taken on an infinite baffle... Your baffle is the exact opposite of infinite.

Also, the Brio uses 2 drivers, one is open, the other in a small vented box. They probably reach 120Hz with the vented one, 80Hz if pushing it ,and uses subs to fill the low end.

I tried its paper counterpart, the TC9, on a baffle 3 times the size you have and it barely went reached 300Hz before falling.

Yes, if TG9 on Aa very small OB it won't go below 450Hz. I missed that.
