Tantalum cap identificaton. Please help.

I have on board tantalum SMD capacitors.
No marks. Orange. A stub on one side.
Folk say this is "unmolded" capacitor.
I failed to find on the internet any such a capacitors.
Please tell me any correct name for such a part, or a
producer's name.

From your description, it sounds like a Sprague (now Vishay-Sprague) 5xxD series. These are solid tantalum capacitors having a high capacitance in a given package size/voltage rating, and a low ESR. Check out http://www.vishay.com/capacitors/tantalum/ for details.

I've used these in projects, and they work quite well. However, they can be prone to spectacular failures if pushed too hard. We use them quite a bit in switching power supplies,especially where space is an issue, but it pays to de-rate them heavily. BTW, the stub is the + side.
