jackinnj: It's indeed well worth thinking of doing it like that. I am using bascom (a basic compiler for the avr processors - www.mcselectronics.com ) wich enables me to do mathematical calculations pretty simple.
I have decided to first continue working on the switched cap filters to see how they behave, and afterwards I might very well try the same with opamps and digitpots.
Janneman: phew.. that's a little over my league.. He's using a dsp processor to control the filters. If only I were able to do that...
