Hi phildas
For my PCL84 amp I used Hammond 125ESE OTs. 10 K - 8 ohm connected. They are not very beautiful but they sound very well. They cost 65 $ each. See the characteristics at Hammond Mfg. - Universal - Single Ended - Tube Output Transformers - (125 Series)

With great care and some trepidation.
Reading this thread will give you some idea. It takes specialized talent and knowlege to wind a transformer safely and properly.

Hi phildas
Some time ago I have been also interested in transformers' design and winding and I did some searching in the Web, but it is too difficult for me. Here are some links:

Building an output transdformer for a tube amp
Output transformer design and winding
Good luck

If you know that the ECL86 is 1/2 ECC83 +one EL84 in a single envelope ...
No! It is half an ECC83 plus one EL41!
Best regards!
