I have tested a Linkwitz transform circuit, and it works very well.
I'll have a look at that driver, see how much power you'll need to get to 25Hz is a (fairly) small box.
Ok - 11dB gain for 25Hz, @-3dB in a 30L sealed box.
more like 14dB gain in a 20L box.

General rules of thumb - long throw and high power handling (so you can equalise - remember this needs a fair amount extra power) low resonance, as this helps the original (un-equalised) frequency response, thus reducing the amount of equalisation required.
