A friend of mine just gave me 2 Studer cd players for free, one A725 and one A727, both of them seem to have some problem:
A727 - opens & closes tray ok, but there are no other "mechanical" noises (can't hear the motor or laser moving) and does not seem to detect any cds.
A725 - detects cds after a little while, laser assembly is working and moving but cds skip and jump like there's no tomorrow. Maybe just a laser adjustment?
Are any of these worth fixing? Any idea what the problem can be on the 727?
TIA,
rolf

on the 727 - maybe 725 as well, there is a turntable height adjustment underneath the mechanism (accesible from the bottom of the machine). That screw in the centrr of the bearing needs to be adjusted right or it skips badly.
They are incredibly quiet machines and under normal circumstances you can bearly hear the mechanism at all.
