Baxk of stat panel showing bracing and notched to accomodate the stat as well as the foam tape, pretty neat, Charlie cut this using his table saw. I myself have never seen this done, and not mention, that it was perfect, every cut. Lets see,,

Cleaning the stats

This incolved using Naptha as well as Acetone, Naptha wahed away any oils from the punch that created the panels, Acetone washed away any rsidue. leaving a very nice and easy to spray panel. I know this is not in order, but it is worth it.
> The last two coats were eurothene(poly) i believe.
> the first is from rhino, as a primer, worked very well as yo can handle these with a full charge, no worries. Multiple pics.

Un posted and out of order

Putting things together
these ma allreay have been posted, but here are some more.
That is all for now, happy reading, and i will go into detail, not finished yet.
Famaily FIRST, then peronal projects.
Hope everyone or someone has insipiration and some good help on managing pics. Other wise, TL's got spayed today, Tv stand will not work, YET. measurements way off, so , ummm, that really sucks.
Dont ask, I need glasses, it saw 16" and and need 18" left to right. built, sanded, and will not work for now.
Stay tuned, there are some more pics i have to research and post, there are so many.

>Thank you very much for kind words with and about my wife. You have no idea how much it means. There is no worse feeling than this and I, am trying to vent if you will while she gets some rest.
Later , and thanks, thats my time for the project. Mavric
more a little later..................

Putting things together

I am not sure if I posted these, finished snading and getting rid of any residue, such as oil ans things of that nature that would cause problems down the road with the coating sticking to the stat. You can use what you like, mine works very well, hope i have this right, believe i left off at putting things together and had to leave, so here we go, again.

Some more pics
>309 3M 1/16 tape as spacer
>310 getting ready to alighn the panels, just as nerve racking as stetching the giagphram.
>311 Equal sprips , vertical, even spacing and as there are wide, i believe we went with 6" spacing.
>313 Copper tape, i read alot of people use a little. no corner cut here, all the way around, which makes sence, you can loose alot of proper sound if you try and achieve getting the charge from a small area, so go all the way aound and dont think twice.
>315 Charlie ground down that solder joint so flat, instead of rounding the wire, he spread the wire like "Pea **** feather" very flat and alot of surface covered on the copper.
>318 Finished product, ready to go.
I believe there is another pic, but this is it for now. Try again later. Hope i showed enough information, and maybe someone learned a little, thats all it takes, alittle insparation. more to come.

zoom in

Take a very close look at the last pic, third, soom in and you will notice that the diagphram condutor and copper tape are almost the same tickness.
feather ther wire instead of twisting like some of my first pics, reason, if you twist, tends to make the wire solid. As you move it, it will break. That happended twice on the build. The flux taveled up the wire and solder will follow.
So :feather" the wire, spread it out in stands. wish i had a pic of that goof up,
Let me try and get some pics, TL's TV stand(fixed)(sotra) and find the sheet that has all my rca connection #'s.

stat covering/coating

I used two differnt materials, this was brought up at or on another post.
either way.
>the fist are using Rhino Lining primer two part. with the amount in the pics, i belive we achieved 10 mill,
> the other was high gloss polyeurothane , from Lowes. Charlie sprayed the outer edges alot thicker than center. I think six to eight outer coats to be exact.
Here is what i used.

Go time

I have evrything done, working on the rca and Tv setup as well as dvd. Right now it is butt ugly, i have things all over the place and need help picking up the TV,
I will post some pics if I can tonight, wife is getting better and thanks for the support, you have no idea how much i appreciate things. No idea.
Well...... I dicided to leave the plasma tv in the loft, it is such a current draw, and I do not know the life time of one, so rear projection maybe no or anywere near picture qualty, but it works just fine.
Ger, if you bump in on this, i would like if you will help me set up the cross over and which switches that need to pushed in or out. As well, very appreciated.
Charlie, you may get a phone call, as you helped 110% all the way. I still cannot believe a complete stranger would do what you have done for me. Like i said, you have no idea, and i do not know how to re[ay you, for your time, experience, this list will be long. I think i found some jazz music, that will be the first in honor. Mav:)

Congratulations dude, you've got a great pair of speakers there!

I suspect they would sound even better if you were to get yourself a good/quiet octave equalizer (10 band graphic) and add some boost to compensate for the dipole cancellation. Since your panels are wider than mine, yours won't have as much cancellation so they won't need as much EQ as mine. For my panels, I have my EQ set for +2db @120hz, +6db @240hz, +4db @480hz, +1db @980 hz and remaining octaves flat.

A little better pic

Charlie, what kind of crossover do you have and how much did it cost?
I have a wicked huming coming from my crossover, trying to isolate the problem. Not sure if i am picking up a loop somewhere, my rca's i got from work, tristed pair, but unshielded. evrything else is fine, Ger and I were on the phone for over an hour trying to figure it out. All rca are 20', freebies, could those being bundled together loosly cause this? it goes away when i unplug the dvd player, but will tinker some more. I cannot thank you guys enough for all your help and undevided time and attention to a complete stranger. Mavric AKA Tater, dont ask.

Happy posting

I believe and hope this shows a true start to finish from a first timer. Wide open for coments, sugestions, or questions, i have learned so much over the months, something i never thought possable, now it is possable and very satisfying to have a drawing on a piece of paper, just an idea, become reality.
UN BELIEVABLE SIMPLY INCREDIBAL SOUND, i urge anyone who has time and unfortunatly some money put away, to give it a go. I dont know how much i spent, but it was worth it, my birthday present, cinco de mayo, right on time.:):)
