I have never heard of a sprague capacitor tester until I found one at a garage sale in mint condition from 1964 works perfectly has a green eye that tells you the value of the cap goes from 1 volt to 600v goes from 0 pf to 2000 uf, I got to tell ya I like it better than my sencore lc53, anyone else ever had a sprague cap tester?
Sounds like a good thing, and the "magic eye" is always cool. I have several accurate capacitor testers on multimeters that I own, and a decent dedicated tester by Tenma. However, the #1 instrument that I use is an ESR (equivalent series resistance) tester by Independence Electronics.
Very nice
This one is esr as well, I was just amazed that in 1964 this tester that i bought is more useful than my sencore lc53 and I got it for twenty bucks lol, although it sells for more than a c note on ebay and is not perfect like this one, I will keep my eye out for the independance one see if I can find it always looking for test equipment, my wife thinks I am crazy, she always asks why do you need all this crap lol. I love hearing that

The Capacitor Wizard is the one I own. It's wonderful. So far I've used it to isolate tens of thousands of dying or dead capacitors. It's small and easy to use, and has needle probes. Because it is effectively a low-ohms ohmmeter that uses a tiny ultrasonic signal as the test signal, I also use it to check out tonearm wiring.
