Honestly get a pair of those active speakers. It is far better to buy a speaker that has a dedicated amp (designed for that speaker) for each driver and an active crossover. They are used by professionals for a reason 
Okay so passive speakers do have some advantage but not really in this case where you want a simple option that gives the best sound.
All you need to do is get a pair of those speakers, a CD player with built in volume control and plug them in to each other. It is more simple than separating amp and speakers and it sounds better too.
