History shows that Derrida's initiative failed and he eventually voluntarily left, his tail dangling between his legs.
Jacques? I suppose philosophy is not your forte. Good to see you've joined the Nige/dvv ramble.
Well, My position about "Myths and Snake oil" is very simple. Can-i reproduce the phenomena ? If not the subject don't exists for me. If yes, what can be the real cause, and is this cause correctly addressed. It won't be so strange after this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BYTlN6wjcvQ
Let's take the "cable's sound subject, as an example.
The very first time I heard about this subject, I was quite intrigued.
Could I hear some differences between various brands of cables ? yes. Is this effect can be caused by the nature of the conductive metal, all things equal otherwise ? Well, not really...
just a bridge with various impedance variations, both from the cables, and the speakers...
To make the things short, I decided to use cooper cables, because cooper is less expensive than silver with very little difference in conductivity, big diameter, to reduce DC impedance, and ... compensate my speakers in order they present a flat impedance curve for the amp. (Mine is 6 Ohms flat from DC to > 40KHz). Now, it was very difficult to feel any differences between two cables, and i gained some lateral benefits in connection with closed loop accuracy: A clear improvement in transient response and subjective damping. That I can measure, of course. Sorry for the snake oil vendors, with their 1000$/m cables ;-)
Now, I tend to prefer single VS multi strands wires. Sound better to my ears. Don't know exactly why, but, as it works, what the f... ? ;-)

Jacques?
Not exactly. You quoted an anti-science sock puppet whose actual name is unknown.
I suppose philosophy is not your forte.
Why would you say that?
You're the one that just stepped in this well-aged doo-doo.

However there are a number of possible explanations for this experience, one or more of which you seem to dismiss out of hand.
Your likely situation can be summed up two words: Sighted Evaluation.
I don't know about that. Article released early 2015.just as the big bang is now a comfortable subject.
What dose this have to do with my reply to you?Well, My position about "Myths and Snake oil" is very simple. Can-i reproduce the phenomena ? If not the subject don't exists for me. If yes, what can be the real cause, and is this cause correctly addressed.

Oh, great master, please, accept the expression of my profound repentance. However there are a number of possible explanations for this experience, one or more of which you seem to dismiss out of hand.

Don't you see the connection with the video you pointed ? May-be I'm wrong, as I was too lazy to look at it longer than 10 seconds (this kind of conferences tend to bores-me ;-)What dose this have to do with my reply to you?
Tracy Chapman´s type of music is typical audiophoolery preferred stuff, not much fan of it.Do you know that from actual scientific experimentation with the recordings and attempting to hear differences that you know to be there by other means, or are you making your comments on general grounds?
One vocal and a few soft playing instruments will not put audio chain through its paces. Any equipment will do the job.
But try to keep paying attention to all instruments & details, stereo space; in a complex recording.
It should not sound like everything glued together; it´s not hifi. And I do not care, if it has nice spec sheet numbers on it.
Numbers can be "bent", to look nicer.
I don't know about that. Article released early 2015.
I was being naughty when I said it. Fred Hoyle rules.
I see what your problem is. That's unfortunate.I was too lazy to look at it longer than 10 seconds (this kind of conferences tend to bores-me ;-)

Arnyk. When talking about the wonderful lady of OUP in Oxford I suddenly remebered someone I think you would have liked if you could overlook he badly needed a bath. Michael Gerzon lived on the same street as the press. He was odd by even I suspect Howard Hughes standards. I remember Michael convincing me digital can work in perhaps 1990. The way Michael used words was remarkable. He could make you understand things no one can understand. My friend told me Michael had solved problems that would possibly have made Higgs and the like seem like children. It had driven him mad and he never recovered. It looks he took it to the grave. I suspect it would have been very dangerous, I suspect he knew that. His audio work made him happy and is the basis of much of what now works. Bob Stewart holds the patents now.
I have quoted this before and will risk boring people. Me to Michael " What are your thoughts on negative feedback " ? Michael " Well I never have, but if I had I might have said this. Some amplifiers need a lot and some very little" Then with his very mad laugh " You can be sure of one thing. Most have the wrong amount ". Sadly he went on to explain, I got is instantly. Local feedback Mr Dejan is the solution as you rightly say. Each amp needs a very specific amount of loop feedback. It is said Michael was a very kind man. I hope he taught me that. Michael was always buying LP's. That's where I first met him. Garon records in the covered market. Michael drove the owner bonkers.
Michael told me that he prefered digital as it would one day sound. Think about it.

Nige, I have said this many ties before - in the end, when you strip away all NFB you have in an amp, you will find that big local and small global amps have about as much as small local and big global BFB amps. Not much difference, at least, neither aspect can escape the shortcominbgs inherent to our devices. It's really only about their distribution and balancing. So much in an amp is a balancing act.
The only question remaining which is important to me and which I have clear cut answer to is how important is it to achieve an open loop operation speed, an open loop slew rate and how low a THD and IM factors are low enough to call it a day? Experience teaches me that a high local NFB and low global NFB amp has a better chance of sounding right to me, but no guarantee. It seems logical to me to correct as many mistakes as much as you can right where they appear rather than wait for the return signal to do it for you.

I read a bit of nonsese in the no big bang paper. Not that, but the no blackholes. Quantum physics says imformation can not be lost. Therefore blackholes can not exist. That's pure nonsense. Why should imformation " not exist " because of a sigularity? I also believe blackholes become supernova. They swallow enough material then reach a boundry level. Super conductors gave me the idea. How can zero ohms have a current limit? Well it can. Someone I forget who, said that supernova as understood could not make very heavy elements. I think my idea can. Also if blackholes were as thought one would have swallowed the universe by now. It is the boundry level that stops that. I also suspect the boundry level is set by external gravity fields, not of the blackhole. Thus big and small blackholes. One curious thing is why the distribution of matter is chaotic on the level we see it as. If it wasn't we wouldn't exist. Curious. Big bang should have been uniform. The suspected Day 1 was 550 million years when cool enough for light to be transmitted and recieved. That it seems was how the chaos was almost ordered. Happy for us it wasn't. Chaos rules.
You are welcome... as long as you pay me for copyright.Quoted for future reference.

Looks like a cheap deflection.
