equivalent transistor not well distributed at large scale.
Today old stock pristine Western Electric 300B are very rare & priced,
but this technology is not forgot in modern era.
European revival become from ELROG company in Germany
direct heated hand crafted triodes 211/845 delivered 20 watts
be in production at small factory&lab.
In 2014 we see probably first new 300B from this passionate and smart team
Transistor technology is much easy in large scale production versus tubes.
Matrix is made and copy and paste like procedure made 10 000 or 1000 000
its not much time consuming made by standarised industrial procedures.
My questions for Mr Pass and DiyAudio gentlemans is:
SIT and Vfet transistors what the future for next generations of music
lovers?
Vfet and SIT's solid state revival and developement like high standard audio for 21 century bring back at large scale for humanity why not ?

Every day transistor for audio amplification have much
like pentode tube characteristics.
Vfet or Sit be triode tube " equivalent " in solid state technology.
Vfet SIT transistors have very similar tube valve triode curves
very linear excellent for audio reproduction and
with no output transformer needed and this it easier
to have large bandwith response.

well since that amp is hardly in the works for my diy, I would be interested in learning about that regulated supply though. it has been a while since Papa published along those lines. is it something only meant for class A (Zoutwise and high DC draw required), or is it something it could be used for high wattage B or AB class as well? care to drop a hint?
