Thanks again Ben, unfortunately Acronman just sent me an email to say the they had miscounted and had only one left instead of the 2 that I had ordered. I have cancelled the order as one is of no use for an SE stereo amp. Just have to see if anything else turns up .

After you purchase new kit with the Sony Vfets from DiyAdio Store in near future....in decembre i guess....
Is great to have anyway some spare part and who know maybe you find another one too ?

Here is another source for Vfets, these are NEC brand. I purchased a set of these a while back and had them tested by a fellow DIY member (using a curve tracer), all good:

2SK70 NEC V-FET SIT one piece extremly rare !! | eBay

2SJ20 NEC V-FET SIT used one piece extremly rare !! | eBay

These are similar to SONY vfets used in early vfet amps (e.g., TA 4650). I believe they will/should work in an upcoming SE vfet amp without any issues.

use any VFET / SIT, one per channel, so if you have an opportunity to get
two of anything you can build a pair of channels with them.

We do have enough of the Sony parts to offer about 400 channels.

two of anything you can build a pair of channels with them.

I was lucky getting 10 pcs 2SK180 from Japan. All tested good. I assume it should work in single end design, however, it would be nice having an option for higher rail voltage so to get more output power. Or just paralleling them...
