After a bit more googling, managed to find the 1670's at Cricklewood electronics - they've got the 4385's listed but no stock..... I've contacted them so hopefully they've got some under a layer of dust on a shelf, or can recommend a decent replacement.

Had a word with Cricklewood Electronics, and after comparing datasheets, found decent replacements for the output transistors. Tested the driver transistors on the main board (all ok - if they're not, replace them), and replaced the output transistors with ones from Cricklewood:

All for under 15 quid
