Hi
I've got a PA Amp here, wich has symmetrical inputs, but i have only unbalanced sources, cinch.
How do I connect to to wires from the cinch plug to the XLR?
I whould do it this way:
Pin3 -> outer conductor of the cinch cable
Pin2 -> inner conductor of the cinch cable
Pin1 -> not connected
OK?
greetings,
Stephan

Hi,
leaving pin1 from the balanced transmitter can cause the transmitter to perform badly.
It would be better to make the cable universal by connecting pin1 to pin3.
Even better is substituting a dummy load between pin1 and pin3 to match the requirements that the transmitter is expecting to see. This last suggestion is not universal.
Then listen to the 3 options.
