Like Audiosan I prefer a soft start.I've been using one of these for some years.Not the cheapest but works well.

soft start circuit with NTCs instead of fixed resistors
do not forget that soft start must be optimized for each particular case , to avoid abrupt currents when switching relay ON
that solution covers case of blackouts , which is only case where simple -NTC in line- solution is critical
