I'm building and amp for vibration shaker. I was thinking of a simple soft start circuit. I have a 500 VA transformer supplying +- 30 volts AC. I was thinking of adding a input resistor on the main side which will slow the inrush and the charging of the caps. As the caps charge, it will eventually pull in a 24 relay to bypass the main input resistor.
The shaker voice coil is rated at 1000 watts RMS. Its impedance is about 2 ohms.
I would rather relay the main side as the current is much lower.
