I have never used any soft clip circuit.
If it is for Class A I would prefer a LED that lights
to warn BEFORE clipping.
One power amp that has "soft clipping" switch is NAD3020i (suffix i).
This power amp is singleton input stage Q402. In the base of this transistor, there is a cct connected to it via C410. Below C410 is what is called "soft clipping" cct, with switch S801-2 is the "enable/disable" of soft clipping.
R462, D802, D804 etc is soft clipping cct. I don't understand how this works as "soft clipping".
Anyone knows how does it work as "soft clipping"
