Congrats on the good looking builds The Dayton ref. 18" specs are nice. Have you had them long, & how's the rubber surrounds handling the power etc ?

I've had it for a while but never really beat on it. So I doubt it's ever seen full power from the qsc mx1500.
The surround should be fine for anything you can throw at it Josh Ricci tested the driver and it's usable Xmax is much more than the 12.xx spec.

I went the coffee table route a while ago, had to put the sub upright in the corner to get enough bass. didn't work out as a coffee table in my case... too bad :-(

Glad to hear this worked for someone!

I tried this approach as well, but with not so great results. In my music room, i could not be further than about 20cm away from the membrane, or room modes destroyed all nearfield effects. Having a concrete walled room makes modes very powerfull. So far, multiple subs with alot of EQ worked best for me, but i might go back to really close nearfield just for fun at some time.
