I recieved a mail from Profusion and they have a question regarding the selection of the P fets .

Hi Patrick,

My apologies for the delayed response. We were slightly understaffed on Friday so I didn’t get a chance to confirm your order properly. Your payment has been processed and I’m just sorting out the testing of some additional parts so your order can ship tomorrow.
On the N channel all the parts should be yellow band. On the P channel, we currently have a split between blue and white. We will obviously try to ship only a single colour band, but if this proves difficult will you accept a split between two bands?

Hi all

It's nice to get the S type (better matched) but if they get different Id range it is worthed to pay extra to get the S type...

Maybe I'm way off but I think Profusion should supply the same color for each type of device.

Maybe I'd rather purchase the 2sk1058/2SJ162 if they are better matched than the Exicon.

Hi Patrick,

Others may feel differently, but I would suggest we insist on a single band. After all,
this is what they state on their site:

"We cannot guarantee a specific colour band upon request but orders will be supplied from the same colour band. If you have a particular requirement, please contact us before ordering."

(Of course it would be even better if the N and P come from the same band...)

I agree with Denis. We pay an extra amount to get selected items. I'm not worried much about the different color band within the same type (P type, in particular), as some will get blue and some other white, but all the same color. I'm more worried about the color discrepancy between P and N type MOSFETs.
Personally, I don't mind waiting a bit longer in order to get the right "matched" pairs.

The alternative is Renesas (2SK1058 / 2SJ162) from Reichelt ?

You then get a bunch of FETs with random Vgs.
And I guess meanman1964 is not going to measure and sort them for you ??

And typically, from my experience, Vgs of 2SK1058 and 2SJ162 differs by ~0.3V at 150mA.
The difference is of course not constant over the current range, as they are not truely complementary.
So delta Vgs depends on test current.
