That's the difference between a system you own, and a £100 000, ( or more), hired system you are just using, ( as well as the grief you would get from Production if you screwed the entire gig )

I would suggest to all thread readers interested in XLR connections to take a look at this detailed explanation on the subject, full 10 pages!

To get to the requiered place you have to seek RaneNote 110, It took me some time but is worthwhile looking, I even made a hard copy.

This is a wonderful OLD thread. However the question

do i use the body as a ground connection, connected at both ends

doesn't really get answered.
Yes we all know the wire code, but should we connect shield to body? (my pre-made cables suggest not at all).
