I got two of these 1925 Bosch speakers, yanked the innerds, and put small MDF sealed cabinets inside them with a 3 inch full range Vifa TC driver in them. These are my computer speakers now, and do amazingly well from 120HZ - 15kHZ. I may add a woofer cabinet eventually, if I ever get around to it.

something that I'd be forever bumping into.

Something to get used to in the Caribbean is the presence of iguanas, lizards and geckos, everywhere.

The pega-pega (pega is the word for 'to stick' in Portu-Freak) are between 2 and 5 inches total length.
Nocturnal, drawn by light and heat. At night, they wait at lamp lit areas to catch bug food.
During day hours, they sleep in hiding, preferably in somewhat damp spots.
Their amazing setae toes stick to everything, there's no stopping them, and they're able to wurm through the tiniest cracks.

A year ago, part of the exterior lighting didn't work, made me have to trace down the power interruption.
Turned out a pega-pega had managed to slide inside an in-wall electrical junction box, then push a wire-end free, fried himself during the act.

The largest NAC sound model is available in a full-range version, with a sensitivity of 94dB/W/m, handles 150W continuous power.
Perfect for porch (& pool) sound, gecko-free, and able to handle humidity levels that go beyond 90%.

Zombie thread!! Resurrected from the dead! :zombie::zombie::zombie:

I have almost a thousand saved photos of Hi Fi on a hard drive. One file is titled, beautiful speakers. There are hundreds of photos in that file.

No, I don't have much of a life, lol. Here are a few I find beautiful to me, in one way or another. May be the design. May be the genius behind it. May be the wood itself. Or it could be, just how it strikes me in the context of the photo.

But, the speakers I find to be the most beautiful of all, to my eyes? Are these:

I hope I can keep getting back on this ride! I like threads like these. It's interesting to see what others find beautiful. Here are some more I like for one reason, or another ...

The most striking I've actually seen. Great visual impact. Avalon Compas.

Strangely, Avalon also makes some of the ugliest speakers I know. Google "avalon tesseract" to witness design gone mad.
