I read about how adding a strip of continuous foil around the base of a phase plug would improve detail in the sound;
"the electromagnet (voicecoil) induces eddy currents in the foil , kind of an electro-magnetic braking system. Supposed to reduce inductance/flatten impedence when positioned above the pole piece".
A number of commercial drivers come ready with this feature so I wonder if anyone here has tried this with the visaton B200?

It has potential, but also negative potential. Essentially, the best place for a shorting ring is BELOW the the gap, around the base of a T-Shaped pole (better still, above and below a cross-shaped pole). Through the gap has its own, different benefits, as does a wholesale sleeve.
