CAD
Hmmm I might be a little late with the answer i suppose, The cad i use is solidworks and then i render it via Keyshot 5.
I have been far to busy to do anything with the Shiga, it is still sitting on the audiophile piece of mdf.
I do have a lot of boxes with parts and about 30kg of raw aluminium stock.
I am glad to see you made a very goodlooking chassis for the shiga, and also a nice remote housing.
regards,
John
John,
Which CAD are you using ?
So far we made our projects in FreeCAD and Inkscape and we are looking for something feature rich and easier to use.

Tibi

Hi folks,
Here you can see fully D-Reflektor-ized Shiga MKII .
It took some time before I could gather all the pieces together , but it was worth . I did not encounter any difficulty , everything I needed can be found in this thread . It is powered by 4 D-Ref for V1-V2-V3-V4 and 2 Ales ''mravlca'' TPS7A4700 low noise LDO regulators for J6 and Burson clock .
2 r-core (9V 30VA)and one toroidal (12V 50VA) transformers.
There is alot of cool staffs used to build D-Refs like Mundorfs caps , Caddock MP930 resistors , Vishay S102 res , Black Gates .
I also changed some capacitors on Shiga board to Black Gates .
The improvement is ... you have music in your room , alot of transparency and spaciousness , very fluid and detailed . Just perfect .Even my wife listening from the kitchen did noted that she hear every detail as if standing in front speakers .
So ,have to say many thanks to Tibi ,thanks for the help and for making this project come true.

Thank you Tibi.
Hi TD ,all changes were made from the basic kit offered by Tibi and made one by one , after careful listening and burnin period go on to another mod .
You can see previous version of my Shiga some pages before and this is same board .
As about the parts used are parts of my favorites that I preferred during DIY audio.

Nicolae
Hello Tibi,
Lots of great pictures of Quantum. Can't wait! But I don't see the dimensions posted anywhere. What's the size? Height from table top to highest spot on top? Width, and length? Thank you.
Attached are Quantum dimensions.

TD,
Since the EZ shiga times I understood that the most important mod is to separate power supply for each line . Because of this I have not even tried mini regulators from Tibi . From this point of view Tibi created the perfect board, giving the possibility of powering all components separately. And that's the answer,if you want, the biggest improvement is given by separate power supplies with own transformers ,rectifiers, filtering capacitors etc.

Thank you John, for your replay.
We managed to stay away from commercial software. Therefore, at right time, some Quantum files will be shared with community.
Looking forward to see your final Shiga unit.

Hi Tibi,
You might want to take a look at fusion 360, it is a FREE commercial cad/cam package from autodesk and it is very good.
There are a lot of tutorials on youtube.
Regards
John.

Hi John,
Thank for this info. I switched to linux in 2006 and I'll never come back to windows, but my daughter have a mac and I'll give him a test.

Thank you 69mach1!hi Nbivol,
It is coming together nicely, great work on the power supply.
All you need now is a case for all these goodies.
For the reflektorD's i use the audyn true copper cap for C1, cheap and also very good.
Great work.

John
Did you finished your shiga? I remember you project , so brilliant piece of work!

Hi Tibi,
I would like to know the recommended laser current (mA) for the SF-P101N pickup model.
Best regards
Laser will peak over 80mA. In Quantum CDT I use a ultra low noise CCS powered from a 500mA regulator.

Tibi
