will this effect tuning much/at all? should I be worried? has anyone actually done something like this?!
its drawn with one side missing so you can see whats going on, area of the rectangular section is the same as the round section

it will be unpredictable, but nothing what a DMM and a bit of effort can not sort out.
search a bit around, you will find how to mesure the tuned freqvency once the box is done and speaker is installed, then you can make your changes to alter the tuning (cut the lenght a bit, re-mesure, and repeat until its good).
any wierdoo formation can be used, it just takes more time and effort.
not sure about rezonances in a setup such as that, but i would figure it does not realy count in this case.
