It was 1974, and I'd just turned 15. I won a free record at the Colorado State Fair from KKAM radio (I answered the "What's your favorite radio station?" question correctly.) I flipped through the box and saw Duane Allman, An Anthology Vol II and choose it (a double album too.) I still have it, Vol I, and several other Allman Brothers and Gregg Allman recordings.
I developed a deep admiration and respect for the Allmans. Unfortunately, I never got to see them in concert.
