With a really long pipe, you may end up with some resonance, you dirty thread hijacker you 
... but you could easily solve it with some added mass. A sheet of bitumen or asphalt and a pipe clamp or 3 works well. (I've built a few NASTY expirments... but the SAF on them was somewhere around -25... so back into the cellar they went)
