The cut out for a 1 1/2" port is approx 1" larger due to the large splines or ribs on the neck, after looking at the dry fit i wonder is this a week link in trying to create a air tight box. The idea was to epoxy the edges of the ribs and the under side of the flange but this still leaves questions on how air tight this connection will be, i then thought about filling the space inside with acoustic sealant but that goop will get all over the stuffing during tuning. After building 3 homes i know how messy that stuff can be.
