Port Honk! ..How To Cure It... (or at least minimize it) ?

-try stuffing plastic drinking straws in the port exit. "Nab" about 10 from McDonald's and cut them in half and stuff them into port exit to where they stay in place (using as many straws as necessary to accomplish this).

It shouldn't add much resistance to the port and should substantially reduce the problem.
 
Back in the sixties Jensen, who brought decently functional "ducted port reflexes" to the market, suggested damping material, such as felt, over the frame (or basket) of the woofer. Tampering with the vent is not dealing with the problem, usually. You have three resonant devices interacting, and the last in line, the port, may not be the problem.
At least three devices, actually.
