I'm another Squeezebox user, running the coaxial digital out into a separate DAC (Scott Nixon TubeDAC kit). All source files are FALC's ripped from CD. The alternate source is an AR-XB turntable, with a Grace 707 arm and Shure V15V cartridge, and Joe Curcio Daniel 2 phono preamp.

Speakers are all DIY. First is a set of Metronomes using the now-defunct Hemp Audio FR8 drivers. Second, a pair of Econowaves, with 12" P. Audio pro-sound woofers. The most recent set are open baffles using Fostex FE166E full rangers above two 15" Jamo woofers (PE buyouts) per side.

All of those speakers are theoretically around 95 dB/2.83V. The SSE sounds good with all of them.
