I prepared it today for tomorrow's experiment called "Wavebourn Surprise". It will be some very crazy hybrid design. I need it to be able to dissipate about kilowatt on 16 Ohm.

SE OTL 6EM7 headphone amp
just finished my first head phone amp.
Cathode follower. DC coupled.
Sounds marvelous!!
Took me a long, long, long time to get rid of all the humm.
Now it's perfectly clean though.
Had to rectify and ground (thanks Jörg) the heaters of the 6EM7's, something I'd never needed to do before.
And put some transformer metal above and below the mains transformer.
The sides are going to be a bit different, 25mm black Acryl and the thransformer cover still needs to be done.

Here's an amp I have just completed.
It is a single-ended amp based on the British 13E1 beam tetrode.
The 13E1 is triode strapped and is driven by a 6EM7 twin dissimilar triode combination.
The front end gain is high as I was considering incorporating a degree of feedback into the design, but the amp sounds so good without it that I am wondering if it is worth bothering with feedback now.
Output transformers are from the UK Majestic Transformer Company and are gapped for 200mA. Impedance is 1K25 into a 4ohm load.

I did not have a time yet to breadboard it. It is completely "stupid" hybrid idea, from audiophile point of view.

Recently I had to fix a overheating 7812 in my tube preamp, so I took the opportunity
to take some snaps.
The preamp is completely remote controllable, has a RIAA preamp and two tape loops.
This was my third - and as yet last - attempt to build a tube preamp. The others work
just fine but this one's got all the bells and wisthles. It was a LOT of work, but it was
worth it. Now I can sit back listen to music AND control the volume.
I also wanted it to be stackable and still wanted to have the tubes visible .
